Colic?

My grandson is 6 weeks old and has terrible colic. He’s having Infacol before every feed but he’s still in awful pain and screams and sobs, pulls his legs up and goes rigid. It breaks my heart to see him like this and was wondering if we should change his formula. He also gets explosive diarrhoea which is sometimes frothy. The health visitor is unable to advise us, just saying to persevere. I’d be so grateful if anyone could help him.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

This could be cows milk protein intolerance (CMPA) - his mum should talk to the GP about whether a trial of a specialised formula might be a good idea.

The diarrhoea isn’t good
could be an allergy to milk
i’d speak to a GP and get medical advice

Colic I don’t think is a helpful term, it literally just means unexplained crying and there will be a cause, you just haven’t found it yet. I’d make a GP and ask about CMPA.
