Mountain Buggy Nano for 5 month old without Cocoon

Hi! A bit of a silly question from a FTM.

I am looking at getting a travel pram for when we travel. Bubs will be just over 5 months old.

I’m leaving towards Mountain Buggy Nano (the other option is Edwards and Co Otto which I know has a fully reclined option) as it has great reviews, is lightweight, and can be used for quick trips as every day use (I have the Mountain Buggy Urban Jungle which I love but it’s a bit bulky for quick shopping trips / cafe visits).

My question is - would it be terrible to buy the MB Nano without buying the newborn cocoon to go with it when bubs will be just under 6 months old? He is currently 3 months so I have no idea what his weight will be then- he does have good head and neck control (doctor and nurses have all commented on this) so I’m not sure if I can get away with the incline on the Nano for our trip.

You’ll be fine, we used a Joie stroller for a holiday at 6 months. Mine loved forward facing!

Don't bother with a cocoon, my average sized 3 month old is nearly too big for it. It won't fit him at 4 months.

What sort of terrain are you travelling to? In all honesty I found the tiny wheels so annoying I got a silver cross pop for the bigger wheels and it was so much better. But if you're just on totally flat stuff, you'll be OK.

Just travelling to cities in NZ, nothing too rough! That’s good to know about the wheels though, as we might be travelling to Europe (cobblestones) in future.

Good to know- didn’t want to spend more money on something our baby will grow out of in a couple of months!
