Suggestions for a stair gate in an awkward space

Hi everyone,

So we have an issue with a stair gate. We thought we had a solution but it was a big no no in the end. It’s an awkward position and ideally don’t want anything mounted or against the glass (I know big ask!) The area is super awkward and not having a stair gate is not an option.

Does anyone have any suggestions or advice please?

Can you screw into the walls?

We have the exact same shape and for us we ended up having to put the stair gate on the 4th step up (where your glass is, sorry). The previous owners had a puppy and there were some small plastic hooks left at the bottom of the stairs (where your number 2 is and on the outer side of your 0) and I think they used a type of cargo net to stop it from going up the stairs if that would be preferable?

ETA not comparing baby to a puppy! I just meant the set up of a wraparound blockade vs the 4th step option

Get a joiner to come and make one for you.
My husband did that and it was perfect.
