Potty Training
We’ve been potty training my son for almost a year now. He has cracked a wee no problem at all (the odd accident here and there) but will not tell us when he needs a poo.
We have tried everything. Sticker charts, rewards, sitting on the potty at times during the day, sitting on potty after meal times, took him to the doctor in case there is something stopping him from knowing when to to etc.
He is a very clever little boy and he knows when he needs to go. All day today we have reminded him “please tell mammy or daddy when you need a poo and we’ll get you straight on the potty” “we’ll get you a big treat if you tell us and have a poo on the potty” and again he’s gone to hide somewhere in the room and start pooing. I’ve managed to see him do it and get him to the potty to finish but another pair of pants ruined. I feel like all I do is wash poo pants and buy more pants for the ones that are ruined.
We feel like absolute failures as parents and are at our wits end with what we can possibly do to get him to poo on the potty. He is 3 years and 4 months old.
Any help or advice is very appreciated
From two worn out parents
