Daughter’s 1st period?

This morning my 11 and half year old
daughter called me into the bathroom to show me that she was bleeding. Thinking it her 1st period. However, there has been no more bleeding since?? ( 5 hours later) . She has no cramps or any other symptoms?
when my older daughter started a few months older she bleed continuously for about 4 days..
we are due to go on holiday next week too and worrying she is going to be on a period then ?
was it a period this morning or not ?
anyone had anything similar happen?

Quite possibly the start, periods at that age are so unpredictable. I would recommend buying period swimwear just in case. I got a swimsuit for my 13 year old daughter who had a period while we were on holiday, it worked brilliantly.

I was so unsure as it just stopped . She is still so tiny so wasn’t expecting this so soon my other daughter was much bigger at this age. I’ve ordered some period swimming knickers just in case.

Very normal for the first period to be really light and short - this was the case both for me and for my 12yo, who recently started hers. In my case my second one came exactly 28 days later and was a ‘normal’ week-long period. My daughters second one didn’t come until about 2 months later, and again was a typical heavy-ish 5-7 days.

Very normal for it to be like this. Both my DDs took a little while to settle down to regular periods.
I would get her some period pants, they’re great for younger girls going to school etc. Mine have the Wuka flexible fit ones, the smallest girls size is age 8-11 I think

do you have reason to believe it’s not a period? Does she have other signs of puberty ?

it’s very possible but I’d consider alternatives if I had doubts.

She has developed in other areas so when I 1st see the bleed this morning I thought it was definitely her 1st period . However, the only bleeding she has had is what was there when she showed me . She has had a pad on all day since and had no further bleeding. So making me think it might of just been a ‘show’ and not a proper period
