Feeling blue 8 months post partum

I’m 8 months post partum with my 2nd born ds, and out of nowhere i’m feeling really anxious and down, have racing thoughts, get wound up over the littlest things that shouldn’t matter, anything from a friend hasn’t liked a social media post to husband not taking the bins out. Just stuff that i seem to overreact to and it makes me mad but i don’t know why because it’s so silly. I can’t seem to control my thoughts and i get angry at so many things it’s getting me down. I’m an anxious person anyway but it’s ramped up this last few weeks. I have these intrusive thoughts that something bad is going to happen to my dd who is only 3, and i worry all the time she isn’t with me. I just feel like a big mess! i have got a lot going on at the moment (moving house and sisters wedding) and my sleep isn’t great either but i’ve always managed before. I’m also EBF so maybe that’s a factor. I just feel a bit invisible, and because it’s my second baby i feel like im expected to just get back to normal quicker, if that makes sense?….but i feel so much worse this time round and have no one to talk to about it. It feels like I’ll never be myself again.

Trust you will feel like yourself again.

this is normal but you need to take steps to help yourself - good to recognise it and talk about it.

you need to make some time for yourself - go for a walk with an audio book away from the children.

start small.

bath, early night, let things go that don’t matter. Be mindful of your thoughts and be kind to yourself!
