Hi my dd is 22 months and seems to be too big for her cot, she is now waking every night for hours at a time upset and wanting in our bed, im desperate for a solution as only getting between 3-5 hours sleep each night! She is very strong willed and tried everything I can think of to solve this and moving her to own bed is next to try!

Now!!! Just make sure she can't pull anything over or get down the stairs. One of my boys still shouted from his bed before he would get out, I don't think he realised he could. very cute.

I think now too - its really exciting! Get dd involved in process and impress on her how grown up and cool she is

Make up some reason for it to be a momentous present. Big deal. Big girl. All hers. Special 2yr old bed.

My DS got his for his 2nd birthday, and was so madly proud of it (slept wonderfully in it from the first night) that for weeks he would not let anyone else, me and DH included, even sit on the thing!!

12legs- Yeah, not sure my DH knew he could actually get out of his bed without help for a good six months either Bless 'em.

Mine were all around the age of 2yrs. They all chose their own bed and duvet cover.
