My 9 year old Ds has been crying today dreading going back to school. He says he has no friends, he has been struggling for a while. The boys in his class all play football and he's not interested also his cousin is in the same class, he's really sporty outgoing and popular .my son is in to lego and roblox he doesn't have a friend who he can relate to and I feel awful, any advice appreciated.

Could school maybe set up a Lego club where he could meet other Lego fans, maybe in different years? (I know school staff may not have the time for this.)

Is there an out of school Lego club he could join? Just had a look, and some local libraries run Lego sessions round here. They are Saturdays or weekdays after school.

Have school raised any concerns about friendships and social interaction difficulties? Ask if school do Lego Therapy groups as it sounds like this would suit him.

Does he chat to any girls or go to any clubs or activities outside school?
No consolation now but he will probably “find his tribe” at secondary school as there will be others with similar interests in other primaries.

I've looked in to a local lego group I'm trying to persuade him to give it a go.
