Formula milk irritating skill

Hi, baby started on Kendamil first stage from birth but gradually became quite uncomfortable, colic, discomfort at night and eventually not burping. She also developed extremely dry/itchy skin but I thought it was due to the baby acne.

We moved to Hipp organic at 6w. She was bringing up burps more easily after each feed. Her skin also cleared up completely but I didn’t think much of it. However, after about 5 days she was extremely constipated, producing solid clay like poo. After 7 days, Health visitor recommended changing to comfort milk and as Hipp comfort is not available in many stores, she recommended Kendamil comfort. I know its recommended to wait 2 weeks but as HV suggested it we swapped.

There has been subtle differences after moving to Kendamil comfort but no major change. She is bringing burps but also spitting out more after feeds. She isn’t so uncomfortable but still struggles to poo and wants to be upright. After 2 days I noticed her skin becoming patchy slowly, and it is now become dry and getting more dry by the day.

I had also mentioned to HV that baby’s skin had cleared up after Hipp but it may be coincidence. She did say if her skin goes back to how it was, on the Kendamil comfort its possible CMPA. Personally, I don’t think so because she was fine on Hipp. Sorry for the long post I guess I’m just asking can certain milk be causing this, and what would be the solution, given waiting 14 days to change milk back?

Yes, certain milks can cause them problems when others don’t. Hipp made mine really ill. Not all of these ‘gentle’ or ‘organic’ milks are necessarily better. We found bog standard cow & gate was the one that worked best. If your baby is unwell, no I wouldn’t wait to switch back.

Oh wow thats interesting. My first was just unhappy on cow and gate but Hipp worked so well.

I did want to change asap, but we are on day 6 of kendamil comfort after being on Hipp for 7 days. A change now will mean 3rd bottle in 2 weeks.
