Is it unfair to send baby to nursery more than toddler?

Please be kind - I will be working PT on Fridays - morning only. To save us some money, toddler will be off nursery that day and will spend morning at creche in local gym which he loves, while I work on site. However, baby can be a bit needy and clingy at times atm (14m) and I am hesitant to drop his day at nursery in case he is unsettled with creche staff and I need to look after him etc. I also don’t want to send him for a half day as he might be napping at 1pm and wouldn’t want to disrupt his nap. Is this very unfair/cruel? This means that until he is a bit older (maybe 24m) he will go to nursery 4 days a week in total, 1 day more than his brother. The thought of it is giving me knots in my stomach. Equally, his older brother did do 4 days when he was still an only child and I worked 4 full days.

OP, you can never make things identical for your children. A lot of parenting is juggling and it sounds like you’ve found a good solution. He will be absolutely fine- you can always re-evaluate as you go ☺️

@Pinkissmart thank you for your kind words. Exactly, that was my plan. To reassess situation and obviously if I can keep baby out too eventually then it’s great for all of us!

So you’re talking one day? That’s seems fine, as though your toddler is off nursery they are still in a crèche (though you working rather than working out - not sure about that).
I sent my toddler to daycare for two days a week when I had my DD, increasing it to three when she started at one year (so she went two days, he three). I was a SAHM but it kept me sane.

@mondaytosunday yes sadly I will be working at the gym cafe which I don’t mind. It’s just tricky with the baby to then have to nap him by 11:30/12pm etc and I might still be working…
