Parenting, work and money worries

I recently lost my job, I have a new one which is 45mins/1hr away and my partner still works at the company where I lost my job.

We have a young child in nursery too.

I am worried and feeling guilty about being so far away.
I am worried about loosing money if I need to leave and collect my child from nursery if she is poorly.
My partner doesn’t have a lot of flexibility and we have no other family to help.

We don’t earn a huge amount as it is.
Anyone experienced the same and how did you cope?

You have to do what you have to do.
Why do you have to be the one to drop everything if your child is ill? Partner will have to get more flexibility

Why does your partners job trump yours though? If you work an hour away and your child is ill it makes more sense for the father to collect the child.
It’s only men who seem to be able to say “my job isn’t flexible” whereas women ultimately just need to make it work.
