My 8 year old son is at a non-selective prep where he is happy. He will be going into year 4. His last CAT4 results were 138, with 141 in two areas. He also plays piano to grade 4. The school have not said much about his academics but this year he has become a bit silly in class. I believe it is because he is bored and needs to be challenged. Unfortunately the school do not seem to be doing anything about it so we are wondering whether we should move to a more academic prep. We are thinking of moving to oxford, so will look at MCS or Abingdon prep in hope to move to the seniors depending on finances. Does anyone have any experience of these schools? Is it worth the move or should we just look at moving to a more academic school for seniors? We do not do any work outside school so understand he may need a tutor to get into one of these schools. Any shared experience will be useful! Thanks
