Hello, looking for advice, encouragement and anecdotes. My 18 month old is not walking and is very frustrated which is making life very difficult. He pulls to stand, cruises and climbs. He has a few words and his fine motor skills are great. But the lack of walking is really bringing me and my back down ! He weighs around 16kg and I’m quite petite and end up with backache for days if I have to carry him. I can’t really back carry him comfortably because he jumps up and down and pulls my hair which is also agony. He gets very grumpy and wants to get out of the pram and just screams. His knees have calluses due to the crawling and are constantly bruised. I’m starting to feel restricted on outings as it’s just a nightmare if he can’t get out and move about. I even hate being in our garden because he is up and down concrete steps and the deck so dangerously all I can do is follow him about. I don’t think there is anything wrong physically, reckon it’s lack of confidence, but I don’t know what to do to encourage him.
