My toddler (2 next month) has super curly hair and often find despite brushing it daily it get's quite matted at the back - does any have recommendations on how to avoid tangles please?

My daughter is an adult now but I remember the pain of managing her hair when she was little!
I used to comb hers - never brush. When she was in the bath, I’d put loads of conditioner on and literally take small sections and comb each one through. It took me ages and it was back breaking! She’s also used African Pride detangling spray for years. I think you can get shampoo and conditioner too. Now she’s older, she also uses Soft ‘n’ Free (or something like that) but not sure that’s suitable for little ones.
So yeah, I didn’t brush it because otherwise she was one ball of frizz!!!

Are you brushing it dry? You can't do that with curly hair, only comb or wet brush with conditioner when it's wet. I use the child's farm coconut leaves in conditioner on DSs but his isn't as curly as mine

My daughter's curly hair tangles easily while she sleeps, particularly at the back. Putting it up in a high pony/pineapple, or wrapping a bandana around her head for bedtime helps; I've also found the Umberto Gianni products good for styling, particularly the air-dry cream (on wet hair for detangling) and the pink curly gel for scrunching in curls.

This is what my daughter uses. She doesn’t have Afro hair, just lots of curls!
