Dry at night - how long?!

How long was your child dry at night before you took away pull ups etc?

DC has been fully toilet trained during the day since 2y8m but has still been wet at night and is now 5yo. We’ve never had longer than 2 nights in a row dry (then usually 7-8 wet) but we seem to have hit a longer dry spell 🤞🏼

How long did you wait before classing them as fully dry? It’s just dawned on me that I have no idea 🤣😅

3 kids here , no additional needs , they were 6,7&8 respectively. Night time dryness typically happens much later than daytime , they were all
day dry by 2/3 years . It relies on the release of a specific hormone , you can’t train children into it .

DS was 6.5 years. He went from multiple wet nappies to completely dry in a week. As pp said, it's entirely hormone related.

I just wonder how many nights of dryness you would class as being fully dry and take away the pull ups 😅 DC is on night 11 of being dry after only ever having 2 nights in a row before.

I think with 11 nights of dryness, I'd say that's dry! I think my son was similar and suddenly it was him that decided he didn't want to wear a nappy at night. I'd give it a go, and let your DS feel super proud of himself!

if you find you have to go back for a while, then so be it, you haven't lost anything (aside from having to launder an extra set of sheets 🫣)

I’ve been pondering this too, DS is 2 (nearly 3) and has been dry overnight for more than a month - but is he too young for no nappies overnight? Is it likely he will regress as he seems quite young compared to the norm..
