I posted yesterday, about how upon his admission to hospital for something unrelated, I had noticed that my 2mo baby had a small (size of a little fingernail) blue mark on his penis.I showed the Doctor incase it was anything medically concerning, but he said he thought it was a bruise and due to the nature of him being an immobile baby and where it is, SS were called and suddenly we are in now the process of a s47 investigation- baby is not allowed to leave the hospital, has got to have a skeletal xray and eye examination tomorrow, and they are holding a strategy meeting after to discuss next steps.
Basically, it has now completely disappeared.I am not trying to deny it could have been a bruise, however i am confused as I was unaware that a bruise could be blue then suddenly disappear without turning other colours first?
Also, i thought that bruises always take some time to disappear, not just one day from being blue?
The doctor asked to see it this morning and it had faded alot to just slightly bluish tinge (and was similar if a bit more so yesterday during nappy changes/examination) Needed quite bright light to notice it.I have taken another photo this evening with there being nothing there just so I have a record of that.
I will raise these questions to the doctor tomorrow morning, but wondered if anyone medical on here could shed any light on if a blue bruise could just disappear that fast without turning any other colour?
He does have some slight bluish veins showing in that area, not usually that prominent, but initially on first noticing it I did think it was a protruding vein.....
He also has some cyanosis around his eyes which I have taken photos of at the doctors request and showed them (it comes and goes) but unsure if it is definitely possible for cyanosis to appear on genitals?
Also, having been told the blood tests were clear, they have now said that actually his blood cell count was abit low and they have got to repeat the test in a couple of weeks....not sure what could cause that?
Thankyou in advance for any answers anyone is able to give!
