Baby proofing - plug socket protectors, yes or no?

I hear mixed things about these, some say it’s best not to use them, some people say use them. My DD has a thing for plug sockets, I’m baby proofing her bedroom as she is moving out of her cot tomorrow so looking for some advice.

They are so outdated as a safety measure that it’s become surprising to see them.

They are completely unnecessary in the UK. I can’t believe the health visitor checked whether we were using them when DC had their one year check.

No, I worked in research most of my life and did some child safety research a few years ago for ROSPA, they actually are dangerous in British sockets as they actually plug in to activate it. I remember being told that even if you stick a fork etc in a socket it won’t do anything … never tried it of course lol!
