One of those, lump in the throat, please don't let the happy mums see me cry moments!

I got so emotional, my pfb is going to school I will miss her.

They all looked so cute, me and some other mums made the gowns in our sewing class and the nursery made graduation caps. It was lovely.

Why do they have to grow up so quickly?

Oh, it is divine when they get to school. Especially when all your children (I have two, the younger of whom turned five yesterday) are at school. Life recovers a degree of, you know, independent functioning. I've not wiped anyone's bottom - apart from my own, obviously - for years now. They tell you jokes. You have a lease of energy. It is utter bliss.

I will be glad when I never have to wipe another bottom!

I know she is ready for school, she is just growing up so quickly. I have another dd (1yr) so it will be nice to have the time with her, can't imagine my eyes will be dry on her 1st day though!

Energy sounds good, I have near to none at the moment.

DanJARMouse · 25/06/2008 19:48

Ive got this to come in a few weeks time.

DD1 going to school in september - no more nursery for her! Luckily, DD2 starts nursery in September, and then will just have some me and DS time.

DanJARMouse · 25/06/2008 19:49

but there will be no gowns or that sort of thing

BetteNoire · 25/06/2008 19:51

Gowns and caps?

Gowns and caps at nursery- fascinating how the other half lives. Mine will have to wait until they get their B.A.s for that .

Still, I can understand the emotion. But life with school age children is rather wonderful- you have a lot to look forward to!

BetteNoire · 25/06/2008 19:56

Perhaps OFSTED should sell them directly from their website?

"Has your four year old ticked all the Early Years developmental boxes? Then see them leave nursery in style with this flame retardant, hypo-allergenic, one size fits all education gown and cap set. Nursery vouchers accepted".

Ah, Bette, my 4-year-olds never did. That explains it. They will have to wait for their B.A.s.
