Bedroom sharing

Hello,

Just looking for experiences of children sharing bedrooms. We are looking to move and the house we have fallen in love with has the bedrooms but only two bedrooms together on the top floor where our bedroom would be.

My plan initially has always been that the two younger share who are 18 months apart and then if we have another in the next few years they would also share with them - so potentially 3 under 4 sharing a room. The plan would be that once one of them asked to have their own room they would just share for that amount of time and be able to have their own room.

Basically I don't overly want to be on a separate floor whilst they are little and we need a garage conversion done so that all those three plus my step son could have their own room, but wondered if 3 children close in age sharing until they wish not to, works or is carnage!

Thanks 🙂

It would probably be carnage! My 3 would have been....

God no, 3 toddlers in a room together? There'll be no sleep.

This isn't the house for you.

Separate floors isn’t really an issue, particularly for a small one as they’ll be in a cot, so will have no idea they aren’t on the same floor and you’ll have them on a baby monitor anyway. My son is on the floor above
us, but his bedroom is right by the stairs and so is ours. We choose not to sleep on his floor
as our older child isn’t in a cot anymore and is on our floor. Sounds like this house might not really have enough space for 4 kids though.
