1st day of potty training today. Going great - no accidents. Been out to tumbletots this morn. Due to go to dd's 2 yr assessment in 20 mins.

Dp mentioned there was a loose (not firm) poo in dd's nappy when he got her up this morn. Nothing since. Until she came and told me she'd pooed in the potty 5 mins ago - she had and it was very very loose. Almost dia dioh diah the squits.

Do I

(a) go to 2 yr assessment with dd in knickers and continue as planned?

(b) Cancel the assessment at last minute (it's already 2 months overdue)

(c) pop her in a nappy and take her?

(d) Keep her in a nappy at home?

Argh. It was all going so well! She doesn't seem poorly at all. Maybe she isn't. What to do? What to do?

I'd leave her in knickers, go as planned, but be very aware of where the toilets are. Take her before you go in, and ask her every twenty minutes if she needs to go again.

And take a change of clothes with you ...

I wouldn't be going out on day 1 (or 2, 3 at a push and not very far!). I think potty training is one of those things you need to focus on and do 100% for the first few days at least.

Good luck whatever you decide! Hope it all goes well

The week I decided to train Baby GoodBits coincided with a dodgy tummy for him too. Only I didn't realise until the afternoon of day 1!

I'd keep her in knickers if you think she is pretty good at letting you know when she needs to go. If you're not feeling that confident bung her in a nappy for a couple of hours.

We went in knickers. We were a whole month early and went to the wrong health centre . I am a wally.

Seeing as we were all dressed up with nowhere to go, we went to a farm instead. One wee in the potty. No accidents as yet!

Go Mini Broc!!
