any ideas for these. have thought of egg and spoon races, and three-legged races, pass the balloon/orange between chins etc. not enough sacks for sack races.

helped me sleep last night trying to remember these!! thanks, Cass.

also doing nail varnish, sparkly lip gloss, stick on tattoos etc.

I'm planning DD1's sixth party at the moment.

I'm thinking of trying the Chocolate Game (aka Tramps Tea Party) - the one where you take it in turns to throw a dice and when you get a six you have to put on hat, scarf and gloves and eat chocolate with a knife and fork - until someone else gets a six.

DD1 thinks it sounds fun. Would love to hear from anyone who knows whether six year olds are up to it!

I also heard of a variation on pass the parcel - pass the hat, where you pass a hat round the group. Whoever has the hat on when the music stops get a small prize, but then they're out of the circle. Carry on until there are only two people passing it frantically from one to the other. Last one in gets the "big" prize.

We're going to do a fairy hunt around the hall we've hired - to fit in with the rainbow fairies theme DD1 has insisted upon.

like the chocolate idea smithy, remember that from brownies.

I was thinking more of outside type games. a friend suggested a fun sounding game - 2 teams, 2 pairs of huge pants (well, I am 38 weeks preg!), and some balloons. each team member puts on the pants and puts a balloon in them and tries to pop the balloon without using hands, then the pants get passed on etc.

may also have skipping games and transfering water type games if nice weather. more interesting than pass the parcel now they're getting older!!
