How long does a first child maintenance direct pay take?

First child maintenance payment

How long does it take for first payment to hit my bank via direct pay? It's been 12 days since it was taken from my ex. I've tried ringing CMA but the line keeps disconnecting, if anyone has another number that would be great too.

Although its been taken from your ex, his company need to forward it to cms with all his details and then they deduct %. Does it say a date due on your account?
Id say you need to wait another week minimal

God it's ridiculous isn't it. My CMS account says no payments owed but a letter I received says otherwise, about as clear as mud.

It does take awhile to get going. My ex still having it taken from his account and still owes alot. Our youngest is 18 in autumn and he thinks it will stop but it won't as hes staying in education and due to all the arrears. Luckily I don't rely on money but so many people do. He had so many chances and then when he changes jobs it takes a couple of months to sort out again adding to arrears .
