Is someone with you tonight?

Can you call your GP in the morning and ask to be referred to the perinatal mental health team?

My partner is but he’s in bed as exhausted and stressed as his mum is in hospital with sepsis

i was terrified of SIDS, but then I read an article on the actual number of cases and it is fortunately tiny. There’s a real fearmongering for new mums and I eventually realised there’s a whole industry built on scaring the shit out of you.
ensure baby is sleeping in a safe environment, this temperature won’t be helping your anxiety, but please try remember the chances of anything bad happening are remote, and just follow safe sleeping guidance

If you look at the statistics something like 200 babies a year are affected by SIDS and this is normally correlated to drinking, smoking, obesity etc.

I used to suffer from postpartum anxiety, and I found I felt better once I pushed the baby’s cot right next to the side of my bed and I could hear her breathing (and see her face) in the night.
