Has anyone actually had a positive experience with CMS?
I applied for CMS for my children back in September, and they deemed I was due £590 per month.
Paying parent paid nothing for months. The debt currently stands at £5000.
They changed my payment to collect and pay and assured it would be paid.
It still was not paid.
They then told me it was going to the debt enforcement team and would be collected straight from his bank account - great.
He then contacted them and made a nominal payment of £200 - the debt enforcement team have now been called off.
They have told me they have to be fair to the father and only take payments he can afford - I found this insulting given he’s been non compliant since last September and I’ve received only £200.
He has now gone self employed. Of course. They’ve now told me it’s not £590 it’s £420, despite him having no other children and still declaring an income of £55k.
I feel like the system is stacked against the claiming parent and I feel depressed over it all.
Anyone else? x
