Cmpa

Hiya my 5mo has suspected cmpa. I did the 3 weeks of dairy free and his rash, sickness and poos got better so I introduced it back as advised and it all came back. Pretty sure it has coincided with a virus cause we are in the absolute trenches with sickness and fever and just up for 2 hours at night with gas.

Obviously cut it all out again. I'm finding breastfeeding so intense with the lack of sleep so I really don't want to do it anymore.

The dairy free formula just smells awful though. Anyone had experiences of babies taking it and any tips

What formula is it op?

Sorry you're all poorly, bless you

Mine took it ok after BF. You can add a drop of alcohol free vanilla extract if needed , I heard some cmpa mum's added dairy free chocolate powder but I tried to avoid that as I thought it would make it too sweet and put him off weaning onto bland solids like veg, if that makes sense

It does stink x

Have you tried adding a bit of alcohol free vanilla essence or some Nesquik to the formula? It can make it more palatable Flowers

Depends how allergic your DC is but we needed an amino acid based formula in the end, we tried them all. We were at the GP every week 😫

I do not know if your supposed to do this but I added some breast milk to it to help him get used to the taste of FF...but maybe research that one first I was just desperado lol x

Yeah it's hard to know with my LO as me introducing back dairy has coincided with with a really nasty tummy bug.

He has a rash, really smelly poos and violently sick when given normal formula. When I stopped eating dairy his rash completely disappeared!

Did you guys get a proper allergy test? I'm quite worried about weaning

Not for cmpa mins had other allergies and those were tested later

But his symptoms were so obvious and went away completely if I avoided dairy (and soya!)

I tried the dairy ladder when he was on solids and he still can't have cows milk or yogurt

I'm so sorry your all sick rn, you can give him a little ounce of cooled boiled water if he needs the fluids keep an eye on how many wet nappies he's having- nightmare for you tho xo

Thank you I'm just terrified I won't be able to stop feeding he won't take the formula even with vanilla!
