13 week old baby waking at night after 30 mins

My 13 week old baby normally goes down around 7/7:30 for bedtime. Over the past week or so bedtime has become a lot more difficult, I have to hold him for 30 mins now before I transfer as he always wakes up at the 30 min mark and I have to put him back to sleep again. I have to do this for naps during the day to help him link his sleep cycles but I didn’t think I would have to do this at night too it’s also a lot harder to get him back down at night. After that he is fine most of the evening and during the night it’s just that intial putting to sleep.

is this normal??

Normal!

I have no idea how you stop it though. I would just plan it into the evening - be ready to go back at 30 mins and resettle.

At 13 weeks, you are really living the dream if he only has one or 2 wake ups at the beginning of the night. Don't think I know anyone that struck gold so early. Mine was waking every 90 minutes all night long until 6 months 🤣

The constant contact naps is really hard though so you are paying for it in the day I guess. They're so so little at this age (I k ow she seems huge to you in comparison to a newborn) but give it some more time.
