Kids probably hit my car?!

Hey there. Just wanted to know what others would do in this situation. I'm parked outside the school. Kids walking by and also on bicycles. All of a sudden I hear a bang to my car. I can see a group of kids hanging by my car with bicycles so I put down the window to ask if they had hit my car? I got met with abuse and told that they didn't do this so I said ok and put the window back up. I'm now worried as these kids go to the same school as my child. What if they say something to my child? What should I do? I know I was in the wrong I shouldn't have said anything but it was just a sudden reaction. Am I over thinking this? Help!!

Jesus, you're just overthinking a tiny bit

Had they hit your car? Was there damage?

What actually happened because asking kids if they hit your car doesn’t indicate you being in the wrong/a sudden reaction.
