My 3yo has just caught chicken pox from nursery, is this normal?! I feel like it looks so bad but not sure if this is just what chicken pox looks like! We've got calamine lotion, virasoothe and an oat bath soak, any other recommendations? Thanks x

Keep an eye on some of the red ones as they could be infected and need antibiotics. If they are itchy you can give piriton syrup. You can give paracetamol but not ibuprofen. My dd liked to hold a damp cloth on hers when they were itchy

Poor love. Looks awful!! My sister swore by washing hers in coolish bath water with head and shoulders shampoo?!

Yes this is normal, try not to let her pick at the scabs because they will be more prone to scarring. The first time dd had it she only had 9 scabs and then caught it again a month later....much worse that time.
