In his potty!

He hasnt been in a nappy all day except for his nap. He has been either naked or wearing pants and we were out for around an hour and he did not have an accident.

Just now he was naked and he said "potty!!" and ran to it and sat down and did a really massive poo!!! With no prompting or anything!!!! Salamander and I are very proud. He is now sitting on it again doing a wee!!!! And all off his own steam we didnt ask him or anything!

We told him we were very proud and gave him a sticker - methinks I shall be buying some more stickers and pants tomorrow!!!

He is only 22 months!!

that's very good. My girls were also potty trained around this age - it saves on the cost of nappies!

well I am disasterously broke at the moment so saving on nappies will be a godsend!!

That is brilliant! Well done to your son.
I also found it easier to leave a potty accessible and nappy off to just leave them to it. My eldest 4 have all trained this way- my 4th has just trained- and we'll do the same for number 5. Mind we're not saving money on nappies as we cloth

Get those stickers in!

but just to warn you, he will have accidents as well, but that's a totally normal part of potty training - it's how they learn to control themselves.

Congratulations Eeenybeeny,

We were in the same boat as you to-day. Big girl pants all day, nappy at nap time. She is also 22 months.

She needed very little prompting all day, in fact the wasted trips to the loo were all at my suggestion.

She had 9 wees in the potty (gold star for each, also going to run out of stars) and 3 wee accidents. No poos today, but since showing her the potty last week she hasn't poo'd in her nappy...only in her potty.

I do feel ever so proud.

Shame it was such a rainy day, we've got a bit of cabin fever....so the wine's been cracked open.

I am ready for accidents!!! Am just so happy it seems like the right time to do it.

WishIWas - congrats to you too!! Love the name by the way!

needaholiday - When I was pregnant I spent hundreds on a birth to potty pack of reusables - he was prem and too small to wear them so I started out on disposable and then couldnt face all the extra work! so sold them on!

They don't all have accidents, DD1 was trained at 18 months, took 2 days and never an accident, dry at night at 2 and never a wet bet.

DS is 22 months and being trained at the moment, he is quite diff compared to his big sister and gets v involved in play and needs reminding to go so I'm expecting a few from him.

my boy also did a poo today....all over his bedroom carpet! hes good at peeing in the potty but seems to have an aversion to pooing in it!
