My one year old DD has had horrendous problems with nappy rash since she was a little one. Gave up on two parters at 16 weeks as the elastic in the wraps seemed to aggravate her too much.

Used dispos for a while, but she was still having problemns with elastic.

started using pockets four months ago and we were doing fine for ages, but it has all falred up again so we are back to dispos but using a zinc oxide barrier cream which seems to be doing the trick.

Something in the back of my mind tells me barrier creams are no use with fleece lined nappies as the pores in the fleece get clogged and don't let the moisture through.

Hating the fact that I have shelled out on all these nappies and I can't blooming well use them

we have more lotions and potions in our arsenal than Boots the Chemist!

Metanium good but if we use it too much it really dries out her skin. It's taken a week of disposables and barrier cream to get her skin looking like skin again instead of crocodile hide!

would using paper liners help to stop the cream from getting onto the fleece? or fleece liners?

We'd been using paper liners...I honestly hadn't thought about them being wet next to her skin

thanks for your help. will rub in the barrier cream well and use fleece liners and see how we go with that for a bit.

I got one of my fuzzis out earlier to try her in one again and she looked genuinely pleased to see it, if that doesn't sound bonkers. I think she likes the re-useables as much as me!
