Is this a regression?

My 9 month old, turning 10 months in just over a week has always slept well from 3 months old other than the occasional stir here and there, especially if she doesn’t have her dummy, but generally she is a really good sleeper, however the last 2 weeks have been rough, might even be coming up to 3 weeks now but regardless it feels like a life time! Religiously every single night she is waking up at midnight crying, but this horrible cry like she is in distress almost. It literally is the same time every night which is what I find the craziest, but it’s to the point I am actually waiting until 12 now expecting it and it does happen. Last night I ended up having to put her in bed with me and took her about an hour to get her to sleep. As soon as she is picked up she is fine and when she come to bed with me she was as happy as Larry and I think was too nosey to go straight back to sleep. Some nights has resulted in her having a bottle and some nights we are lucky enough that after 15 minutes or so she goes back to sleep.

Any ideas what this could be!? She has already cut down from 2 naps to 1, which isn’t ideal given her age but she was just refusing an afternoon nap so now’s she naps 10-1 and goes to bed at around 7pm.

if anyone could give any suggestions I will be so grateful as being back at work full time, having a baby and a 3 year old with very little sleep is a rough ride! Thanks x

Separation anxiety peaks around this age. So maybe she just wakes up around the same time each night and realises she’s alone and that’s why she’s so distressed but then comforted when she’s with you.
I know their sleep can be disturbed when they’re learning a new skill too - my nearly 9 month old was awake for an hour babbling to himself last night and then again early this morning.
Could also be that she’s too hot or cold maybe.

Yes there is a huge sleep regression at 9 months. It’s tough now but it might just stop as soon as it started Smile

@TinyMouseTheatre how crazy that I put this post yesterday morning and yesterday she had her two usual naps and slept through the night! Just as you said, it really did stop as quickly as it started but it was a rough one. Seems to be the end!! 🤞 @Row23 and funnily enough she started crawling properly yesterday! So that’s why she was regressing!
