Controlling TV programmes App

My 4 year old DD watches a little bit of TV after nursery. We have tried to keep a tight grip on what she watches, but we’ve now started to get lots of requests for stuff I don’t like the look of / looks a bit naff.

Obviously I’m currently in control and can navigate this, but it made me think how useful it would be able to be to ‘pin’ programmes I think are acceptable so that’s all that showed up. We have Disney, bbc and Netflix although I don’t love much on there for her. Either within each app or ideally in one app. Does this exist? I feel like so many parents would want it! (I know I’m in control and need to parent. I do that. I just thought it would avoid endless requests for Cocomelon / little angel.

if you stick to bbc only you can use the ceebeebies app which is safe. And just lock her out of the others.

Totally agree with this.

I'm not sure about other brands, but we have parental control through our LG TV. It allows us to place a lock on whatever apps we choose that then need a PIN to access. The kids (6+4) have access to BBC iPlayer, Paramount+ and Disney+. They probably could access our profiles within the app themselves, but they're more interested in watching their cartoons anyway.

Have a root around your TV's settings. You might already have the capability to do what you want it to already. Otherwise you have a good case investing in a new TV.

She has her own profile on each app which is locked down to her age, and she doesn’t control the tv yet we do it but I just had a vision of an app where once it opened it only had our chosen programmes that we like on it - some that are age appropriate for her age still drive me mad 😂
