Low scoring in 2 year assessment ? Should I be worried

My DS 2 year assessment is due and he is scoring low.

Communication = 20 (his communication has improved greatly over the last few weeks, he can count to five, identifies colours blue, red, green, He doesn't point but I know he knows what it is as he will just say what it is)

Gross motor = 30 (the questions about kicking a ball, I show him how to do it, but he just isn't interested and has never done it, but I do think he would have the capability to do it)

Fine motor = 40 so not concerned

Problem solving = 20

Personal/social = 5

I guess my over arching feelings are some of these skills on the questionnaire I think he could do but he just has no interest in doing them. He doesn't really role play or copy (maybe on his terms if it's something funny like shaking your head) At home he only really plays with cars, trains and will say the relevant noises or looks at books. Otherwise he mostly just roams around in the house or garden soirs quite hard to play with him as he doesn't really want to sit down for long. I do feel that sometimes he just doesn't want to listen, copy or sit down. For instance I can say look there's a plane in the sky and point, he will point up and say up but doesn't look at the plane. He is quite head strong. For instance going out can be difficult as he wants to do his thing and he doesn't want to follow you. If you say the words 'this way' it will always result in him whining and sitting on the floor.

I guess I'm looking for reassurance from other mums whose little ones were similar to mine and scored low on the questionnaire. Was everything ok?

Thanks for reading I know this is a long one.

My daughter is 2 in early June and is very similar to how you describe. She says a few words but not really the two words with different means like ‘mammy gone’. she understands loads and babbles a lot.
gross motor is fine.
doesn’t pretend play too much and is mostly happy entertaining herself being curious. Sounds a lot like you describe really. I’m not worried at all. She could maybe be saying more but she is improving gradually and making progress which is the key and I think her level of understanding is high

@ACR7 thank you, that really is reassuring for me that there are other two year olds who are similar to him and not to worry too much.
