Hi everyone! I am a volunteer with the NSPCC, and I just wanted to share this useful tool that the IWF and NSPCC's Childline have collaborated to create. The 'Report Remove' tool is designed to support young people (under 18s) to remove sexual images (nudes) or videos of themselves online.
Having nude images of yourself shared online can be worrying or scary, and unfortunately children are not immune to this situation. This tool allows children to confidentially report these images to get them removed from the internet.
If your own child or anyone you know is under 18 and has had this type of content of themselves shared online, the 'Report Remove' tool allows the IWF to assess the reported content. When it meets the illegality threshold, it is given a digital fingerprint which is shared with internet companies to prevent the content from being uploaded, re-posted online and shared elsewhere.
'Report Remove' is something that every parent and their children should be aware of, as it can be a part of the solution when children dealing with these situations need support. Childline will also provide a counsellor that your child can speak to for extra support.
