Does anyone else only have one child and o if so do you wish you had more? What was your reason for stopping at 1

We are 1 and done. Our toddler is very full on, I can't imagine having the time nor energy for another. I also like that we are able to give him so many opportunities, if we were to have more finances and attention would need to be divided.

I come from a large family and hated it. I know some will disagree but in my opinion once you get over 2-3 kids there is no way you can give them the attention they need. I was so jealous of my best friend who was an only child. She had such a close relationship with her mother.

Then DH was going to be an only child. But BIL was an accident. They decided to go ahead with the pregnancy and he was then born with quite a few issues and is still living at home in his 30s.

So I imagine both of our backgrounds have influenced our decision greatly.

One of many children here & woludn't change a thing. We didn't have the luxury of material goods but at one point I was asked if I was an only child because we were all showered with love & care. As adults we now have huge gatherings & get on well although I totally understand this wouldn't be everyones experience of a large family.

We just have 1. We had ivf and luckily it worked first time. We are over the moon with her and are stopping for a couple of reasons. We don’t want to invite any disappointment in trying IVF again when we’re very happy as we are. Plus it’s expensive and we’d rather spend that money on nice family things for our daughter. We both work full time too and it’s tiring even with one as an older parent. My brother and his bother can’t stand each other and have never gotten on so there’s no guarantee you’re giving your child a life long friend.
