Wrote about my ex before basically spilt up with him when my son was one because of domestic abuse which went to court he stalked and and harassed me following our break up so I got a non molestation out on him social services was involved over it he caused no end of trouble.. now its been years my son is now 10, social signed us off when son was 3, obviously i have no contact with ex even now.but he still had limited contact with son tho not regularly since ,contacts only been through his parents as I stayed in touch with them, they do not live near me moved miles away and so has my ex now so son only visits them in school holidays when his paternal grandparents come pick him up, hes managed to cause trouble since saying bad things to my son about me and my partner and there was a time I let him have a phone call on his parents phone and he sent me abusive texts off it calling me rat etc so I had to say he couldn't do that anymore things like that but he hasnt done anything in a long time tbh and his mum says hes changed, but now the last fews days hes been speaking to my son on PlayStation everyday, hes not actaully done anything wromg yet but im constantly worried he will stir trouble again and I don't like my son speaking to him so often I worry the influence he will have over him 😪 I suppose I just never saw this comimg them getting close i know hes his dad but I feel like my son is distanced from.me and we used to be so close, I have another child now who is 1 and she takes up alot of my time when he was used to being my only child and still is his dads, i have doubts he has changed as well ,his dad treats him as a friend playing video games is the extent of his parenting where as i have to displine him set boundaries etc he also buys him things now and always point how much they cost which impresses my son, he only recently started doing that but I can deal with that tho its just do I say anything about him.being on PlayStation to my son all the time atm and risk being the bitter villian to my son 🥲

I’d suggest you limit the time he’s on the PlayStation by keeping him busy with other things.

A ten year old does not need to speaking to other people on PlayStation. I'd be looking to cut back on his online presence. And definitely not in his room alone.

A ten year old didn’t need to play on the play station full stop. ✋ mine did this for a while tried to get him to download online games etc but actually he doesn’t have a laptop, iPad or whatever of his own (he is 12) so it stopped immediately.

Is there no way of disabling that function on a PlayStation? Some sort of parental control? To not have that seems incredibly dangerous if it would allow groomers access to children.

I’m not suggesting your ex is a groomer. I was wondering if you could physically limit the amount of time they can talk to each other

Yes your right i will be limiting him being online now his grandparents brought the playstion and set it up and he liked speaking to his friends from school on it so probably been on it too much,
