How long does your 2 year old nap for?

Just wondering, my toddler is now 2 and a half and I am just trying her on a shorter nap, about an hour, to try and improve bedtime sleep.

How much time does your toddler spend napping in the day?

My now 3 year old dropped her nap (with a bit of encouragement) at about 2 years 3 months. Any sleep was keeping her up till 10. My 5 year old was still napping at least an hour until 3.5. They’re all different.

Peadiatrician here and mother of 2. DS had to be limited to 45 minutes after 18 months or bed time was a disaster. DD could sleep for anything up to 3 hours until she went to school without it affecting her night sleep. Earliest I have heard of a child dropping thier nap is 9m some not till 4.5 years. So variable.

My daughter is 2 and if she has any more than 45 mins nap she won’t sleep until 9pm so we keep it to that, sometimes she doesn’t have a nap I’d say about 40% of the time now she doesn’t nap at all. I know of her friends the same age about half of them are no longer napping, the ones who are still napping range from 45 mins-2 hours so it’s very individual

Thanks everyone. I suppose I am trying to find the nap sweet spot to stop nighttime wake ups.
