When did you return to full time work after children?

At what age did you go back to full time work after having a child?

My child is 3 turning 4 in the summer and will be starting pre school

i am currently working 3 days a week and plan to increase to 4 days when they go to preschool.

I am then thinking it makes the most sense to increase to full time once the child starts P1

does this work for most people to have both parents working full time at that age? We have flexibility to work from home at least once a week just dependent on work schedule

Never, I always worked four days after DC. They are now teens. We used a childminder for wrap around care and she did holiday care too.

I haven't. I work term-time 17-21 hours a week. So we don't need to pay for after school clubs or holiday care. Everyone is in different situations though. We've paid off the mortgage so we're lucky in that way.

12 months with DS1 and 9 months with DS2.

With my first, I agreed to go back a month early when DC was 8m as my cover staff was due to go Mat leave. I went back part time, mornings only and worked for a small company that wanted me to bring my baby in with me, so I did until she was 18m and I moved jobs.
My second, I went back at 9m. I worked part time until she was 8 and then full time from home.

When they were 11 and 9. I trained as a teacher whilst staying at home so, by the time I started work the eldest was at secondary school and the youngest went to the school I taught at so no childcare needed( he stayed in the school library after school until I finished work!)

like most people l know after maternity leave ended. For me when my eldest was 11 months and then again when next child was 12 months.

I went back full time when mine was 11 month; we both do compressed hours to save on childcare. No way I could have stayed home longer so boring 😂 I don’t know anyone who stayed home after their maternity leave

I returned to full time work when Ds1 and 2 were 6 months old.

I earned similar money to my partner and we couldn’t afford for me to have more maternity leave or not go back full time.
