Nappies leaking pee??

My sister is just starting out with cloth nappies on her newborn and I am not there to figure out what she is doing wrong but she's not having much luck.

She used a diddy diaper with a new fleece liner (washed I presume) but said the pee came straight out the back of it?? These are pre used nappies from my ds so they are well worn in.

Then she said she had a big poo leak out of the leg. I presume that was because the nappy/wrap wasn't snug enough around the leg but the pee leak baffles me as she said it just came straight out. Same problem? i.e. still not snug enough?

Probably not completely in the wrap and wicking

yeah that's what I thought, I just said to make sure it was snug enough around the legs and covering the whole nappy. Hopefully that's it!
