Just a bit of a celebratory post as I feel like screaming this from the rooftops, and a bit of hope for anybody with a baby who you feel won’t ever sleep through the night.

My little boy slept through the night for the first time ever on Wednesday night, and he just did it for a second time last night. I know a lot of children reach this point long before 19 months, but my God it has been such a journey, and I never even believed the time would come, but it did!!

He was a CMPA baby, breastfeeding was HARD and he was clingy and refused to sleep anywhere other than on or right next to me from the night I brought him home from the hospital. I hallucinated from pure exhaustion during the first few months and spent the first 7/8 months with him almost constantly attached to me in the daytime, I had to have him in a carrier all day long as I did everything.

and now he is the most confident, independent boy. He still needs to be cuddled to sleep but I am very much okay with that.

I am just sooooo proud!!!

My congratulations OP! I’m well past those days thank goodness but remembering the sleepless nights still makes me shudder… I’m very pleased for you!

Congratulations!!
My DS started sleeping through the night at consistently 20 months. Hopefully this is the start of great sleep for both of you!

That has brought me joy! I can’t wait for the night where I can have a full night’s sleep, and/or actually spend an evening in front of the telly with DH (too knackered to do anything else 😂) wishing you many more peaceful nights

You must feel great! Our eldest was very similar in terms of age to sleep through the night, it was exhausting, googling sleep tips while rocking him, and wondering what we were doing wrong.
When he finally started sleeping through more nights than not, it was like a big relief.
Hope it long continues for you!
