Six-year-old suddenly saying negative things about herself after starting school

My 6 year old DD in the last couple of days has started saying some negative things about herself. This is very new as she normally very confident. The other morning she actually said she hates herself as she is smaller than everyone else, that she can't do anything right and mentioned a mistake she made in school, that she wants to be her younger sister. Please any thoughts as it's making me anxious. She started school this year and seems to be getting on okay but she doesn't tell us much.

Reassure her that she is great the way she is. You need to build her self-confidence so she can cope with challenges in life.

She's not been in an environment where she gets compared with other people before. This is the opportunity to teach her resilience. That being small is fine - there are all shapes and sizes of people in the world. That comparing ourselves with other people doesn't make us happy, so it's better to just be nice to ourselves and if we want to get better at something just practise and give it a go.
