I’m so bored

I have a 3yoDS and another on the way (just done the slog lat is the first trimester). I’m hormonal, exhausted and feeling very bruised after what was a really tough few months of early pregnancy. I have the day off today with my DS and I want to relax a bit, be productive a bit and spend some quality time with him. DH has his hobby after work so won’t be back until 7.30ish.
my question is… how do you fill your relaxing time other than just sitting down and watching TV / reading? I don’t want to just have the TV on all day but at the moment it’s my go-to both for me and DS. It’s a habit I want to break but I have limited energy…. Well go out for a nice walk, do jobs around the house, cook dinner, maybe bake some bread….. but then what?

If your DS is three, why don’t you read to him rather than watching telly? Or play with him - I realise that playing cars or whatever is not the most exciting for you, but he’ll love it, and they really are little for such a short time.

Do some baking with him?? Rice crispie cakes, savoury pinwheels ? If you haven't got much in a packet of plain biscuits and icing tubes and little sweeties will fill an hour x

I always loved doing jigsaw puzzles and age appropriate board/card games with mine at that age

I genuinely love play doh and ds and i could kill a lot of time making things

he also had a play house with animals and a wooden train set so we’d play music (he loved The Beatles!) and build a zoo/town with his bricks
