22mo dd has been sitting on loo since 5 months, and by 1 year was doing most of her poos on the loo. So I decided to try and get her out of nappies by her 2nd birthday (other than at night) We use cloth and I have another baby, so will welcome the decrease in laundry!

So yesterday we went on a special shopping trip together, just the 2 of us, bought 'big girl' pants and stickers (all of which she chose) ... made a big deal of it, bought her an ice cream etc

Last night I made a chart, complete with picture of toddler sitting on loo .. she was all excited to see it on the bathroom wall when she woke up this morning.

so, to cut a long story short ... we had 4 hits and three misses today .. but every time she wet herself, she told me immediately ... so I'm pretty happy, I think we're off to a good start! What do you think? Does anyone have any tips for tomorrow?

well done that's excellent for day 1. we're on day 4 and it's getting much better. ds is telling us, most of the time, that he needs a wee and we're generally getting to the toilet or potty in time.

we've been using a sticker chart too and when he get's 6 stickers on the points of a star he gets a little treat. seems to work really well.

i think keep doing the same thing, sounds like you're both going in the right direction

good luck

we are day 10 into potty training and today was our first day with no accidents at all

I am starting today as well EEK!

DS is 2.8yrs and is ready (I think) but is reluctant to go without his nappy. He keeps asking for it when I take it off and I have to really distract him to stop him getting upset.

Today I have kept his nappy off most of the morning and he has done 2 big wees where he did a tiny dribble on the floor, stopped and said 'mummy' I grabbed him and plonked him on the potty and he did the rest of the wee there.
No proper accidents yet.

I think we are doing well. Does it sound like he is ready?

Stargazing - thats really good going- well done DD!
Just keep prompting is all I can recommend. DD needed prompting every 10 minutes at first, but now I never need to (6 weeks later).
