Would you send DD to the party?

DD is 5. Last night I stupidly presented her with an entire pizza for dinner. She doesn't usually over eat and I thought she'd just leave what she didn't want but she ate the whole thing! At bedtime she said her tummy hurt and then at 11pm she woke up and vomited it all up everywhere.

She has a party today which she's desperate to go to (and I'm also keen as she's had some social issues at school and it's a friendship I'd like to cultivate). Would you let her go? I'm sure the pizza caused the vomitting. She has no other symptoms and in her words, she thinks it was "food overload". Then again, if she mentions being sick I don't want the other parents to judge me if they think I'm spreading about a sickness bug!

Wwyd?

I would let her go if she feels well. Sounds like a straightforward case of overeating.

It really doesn't though. It could be pure coincidence, especially if it's a child who only eats until full normally maybe on this particular evening she was indeed hungry enough to eat the whole pizza ( we don't even know how big the pizza was).

The reason we have the 48 hour rule is because you can't know for sure so it's better safe than sorry, sometimes vomiting once is still a bug.

That's a good point and also she might have overeaten because her tummy didn't feel quite right.
