Takes nappy off at night

Hi, I wondered if anyone else had come across this and / or had any advice.

My 2 years 8 months DS has been potty training for about the last 6 weeks / month (can't really remember) and is doing absolutely brilliantly in the day. We're not planning on trying to get him to be dry at night any time soon, as he has a kidney problem which means that he can't concentrate his pee, and so continues to pee a lot at night (he also has to drink a lot throughout the day).

Anyway, that was fine because we just kept him in nappies at night which he was and is happy about EXCEPT what seems to be happening is that he needs a pee at night, half wakes up, pulls his nappy down, and therefore ends up with him and the bed soaking.

We've talked to him about it, but I really think he's so sleepy at the time that he doesn't really know what he's doing.

Any suggestions????!!!!!!!

popper vest so he can't get to it easily?

If you aren't trying to potty train him at night, how about a bed protector sheet- waterproof on the back and goes on top of the bottom sheet to protect it. Saves having to strip the whole bed if there is an accident?
Another idea may be to try lifting him and letting him use the potty late at night before you go to sleep? He may surprise you.
Good luck.
