8 yo DD
So fractious all the time

Gets cross with me multiple times a day, e.g.

If something is lost, I lost it
If something doesn’t work, I broke it
Constantly accuses me of “lying”

She became like this overnight. It’s horrendous and I dread weekends.

Is this normal for 8??

What happens when she is like this? What do you do in response? Especially with the accusations of lying?
I’m quick to draw my children’s attention to the fact we don’t simply blame the world on autopilot…ex is very much a blame-man and I really don’t want the children seeing the world with this bitterness. If any of mine accused me of lying there would be very firm discussion about the seriousness of this immediately.
How is she at school? Anything going on with friendships, with grandparents, pets etc?

When she flies off the handle you simply can’t reason with her she rants and raves and rants and if I try to say anything she yells at me for “talking over her”

At calmer times yes we have had conversations about lying and she herself understands e.g. she understands the boy-who-cried wolf concept etc

My daughter was like this then started her periods at 9. It was a bit of a shock for it to be so early but she did get much better after they settled in.

I was thinking the same thing, sounds very much like prepubescent hormones kicking in😮

Same here. Exhausting. Mine also possible ASD though, awaiting assessment. Has always been prone to rage (since literally day one)

Hmm my girl has some early nipple development but she’s also extremely skinny so doubt she would meet the basic weight threshold to sustain menses by 9. But we’ll see. Thanks for flagging.

is she overtired? what time does she go to sleep / get up on a school day? earlier bed times might help.
