My little one is due for MMR soon and with the recent bad hype about vaccinations and links with Epstein files etc, What's your take on it? I've always been pro Vax and have had all Vax myself and for my older kids.
Given the recent news , would you continue to vaccinated your kids??

Yes, because what you’re hearing isn’t news, it’s pure misinformation.

MaggieMar · 27/02/2026 21:29

Yes. I would still vaccinate.

My db has both mumps and measles in quick succession in the days when MMR didn’t exist and I remember my mum being up all night and everyone very worried and the doctor coming to the house. They are terrible, terrible diseases. I wouldn’t take the risk.

BestBefore2000 · 27/02/2026 21:32

My kids all had the vaccines, but I asked for the other one to be done separately as I feel all of them in one go is a lot for a very young child.
Not explained that well!!
As in they had the MMR but not the other jab they wanted to do at the same time. I booked.a separate appt for that.

Exactly this.

GasperyJacquesRoberts · 27/02/2026 21:32

Absolutely yes. I have no idea what you mean by a link between vaccinations and the Epstein files except, maybe, that the kind of people who are trying to distract attention away from what's in the Epstein files are often the kind of people who are trying to cast some kind of shadow on vaccinations. Maybe those two things are related.

Edited

It's not. Every day their bodies are bombarded with bacteria & viruses. And I'm not sure the vaccines exist separately any more.

BestBefore2000 · 27/02/2026 21:34

@Wonderknicks Apologies - I have since edited to explain better what I meant!

BestBefore2000 · 27/02/2026 21:35

I also requested the newborn Vit K orally as far gentler on my newborns that being jabbed!
Similar reasons for not having the MMR at the same time as the other vaccine.
Always remember as a parent that you can request these but they won't be routinely offered as less "convenient" for the NHS.

lunar1 · 27/02/2026 21:38

Vaccinated your child. I’ve been following the Epstein information closely, what from that would make you question it?

Johnogroats · 27/02/2026 21:41

My kids both had MMR. They are now young adults, well adjusted, at good unis. They had no ill effects from the vaccines. If I had more kids I’d have no qualms about having them vaccinated.

CassandraCan · 27/02/2026 21:43

I assume the OP means Epstein-Barr virus and not files… 🤣

nocoolnamesleft · 27/02/2026 21:44

I am always pro MMR, having seen a child die horribly from the complications of measles. But at present, with dropping rates of immunisation and the result rise in measles cases, I am very very very pro MMR. Because you simply cannot rely on herd immunity.

BedtimeBrainFog · 27/02/2026 21:47

@MrsNT can I ask you what you are concerned about, specifically? Not sure what vaccinations have to do with Epstein, so I’d like to understand what specific concerns you have.

viques · 27/02/2026 21:48

All three of those illnesses have the potential to cause life changing complications to your child, or to other people..

We have become very complacent and blindsided by the lies that have been told about vaccination, we need to remind ourselves of the devastation they can cause.

mumps : sterility in boys

measles : blindness, deafness, convulsions,death

rubella : passed on to unvaccinated pregnant women can cause horrendous birth defects in a foetus.

The lower the herd immunity effect the more likely it is that these diseases will cause untold hurt to someone’s life.

Unless your child has a condition which precludes vaccination then why would your hesitate, the diseases are bad enough for a child to suffer, but the thought of what could happen, and used to regularly in the past, doesn’t bear thinking about.

The only hype and news is from conspiracy nut morons. Of COURSE we continue to vaccinate our children.

Sorry I wasn't clear on my first post
There isn't a mention of mmr in the Epstein post but he is linked to polio vaccine campaign and a lot of people are denying polio vaccines in many countries because of his links and vaccines in general

If you want the news to inform your parenting maybe start with the stories on the measles outbreak in the UK.

Onlyontuesday · 28/02/2026 05:28

Epstein's link to the polio vaccine is really just his link to Bill Gates and his charity. He's not financially benefitted from vaccines, he was just trying to associate himself with the Bill and Melinda Gates foundations good work to make him look like less of a cunt. Epstein had nothing to do with MMR.

Tbh though this is really irrelevant in making a health decision for your child. Measles can kill and result in blindness and a reduced immune system. This should really be much more significant to you in making the decision than anything Epstein did, especially as there are current measles outbreaks.

Ferrazzuoli · 28/02/2026 05:29

OP, are you aware of the many children hospitalised recently during the measles outbreak in the UK? Measles is a very serious illness whereas the MMR vaccine is very safe. Please vaccinate your children.

FantasyFoodhall · 28/02/2026 05:42

I still don’t get how Epstein has affected whether or not a vaccine is safe and beneficial for children. Reprehensible as he was, I don’t get how any involvement he may have had in vaccines or their campaigns could possibly affect how they work.
What am I missing please?

Really?
so allowing Epstein to do even more harm despite being deaD
Don't base a serious health decision on this. Vaccination saves lives

Oneearringlost · 28/02/2026 06:04

OP, where did you get this "information" from?

There is no link between Epstein and safety of vaccines...are you conflating American politics ( antivaxxer Robert F Kennedy Junior, Trump's mad Secretary of "Health") and mad, evil Andrew Wakefield, coming up with nonsense rabbit hole theories, mistakenly?
I think you need to unpick your "information", and use reliable sources. It sounds like you've scrambled all the scandals...get your child vaccinated before they catch a life-threatening, life-changing disease.

It would be so wrong not to allow your child to benefit from the incredible medical advances that have been made. Of course you vaccinate.
