Ive been leaving the house for work the same time everyday monday to friday my son turned 4 in January and for last couple of weeks hes absolutely screaming when I leave he does calm down eventually but its heartbreaking everyday even at drop of at nursery hes started asking for 2 or 3 cuddles before he goes in has anyone experienced this before is it just a phase?

It's a phase likely. I find when DS is extra needy, I need to give him some extra cuddles and attention the rest of the time to improve his anxiety. Basically lots of mummy time so he's not as bothered when I do have to go. 4 is still little, they need you lots.

Hopefully just a phase. Try and not long out the goodbye. Keep yourself cheery and upbeat, offer one cuddle and then try the distraction technique and say to whoever you’re handing over to “Oh little Tommy has a brilliant story about his weekend to share with you, Tommy can you tell Sarah where we went on Saturday.” Or “Sarah, Tommy has something very exciting in his backpack he’d like to show you once you’re inside, it’s one of his favourite teddies he’s bought in to show his friends.”
