Leaking Nappy Every Night

Hello, i really need some advice. Since my baby boy (7 months old) has been able to roll over he sleeps on his front and since this every night his nappy leaks from the front. The rest of the nappy is fine…basically empty. We have tried different sizes, different brands and own brands.
Can anyone offer some advice, suggest something to try please.
We change his nappy as we go to bed which is a few hours after he has gone to bed. He sleeps through the night so i will only change his nappy if he wakes.
I never had this problem with my front sleeping daughter.

Pampers premium protection nappy pants. They're the ones that used to be called active fit. I found they held more and didn't leak no matter if he'd been lying on his front

The ones with plus in the name are more absorbant and should be better for night. Also worth trying different brands to get a good dot round the legs as some are better than others.

We also used pampers premium protection, although the nappy pants leaked on her because the waist wasn't as well fitted. The tab nappies have been great

Have you tried a bigger nappy over the top? Sometimes works.

We had this, we tried a bigger nappy size and somehow that worked!

Increase size of his vest if he’s wearing one. We had this, and although the vest fit fine in the day, at night with his sleeping position and extra volume in the nappy it seemed to be a problem. Now he wears a size bigger at night and no issues since

Nursemumma92 · 24/02/2026 09:27

Nappy on then size bigger pull up over the top and make sure the vests are quite loose over the top.

The Boots Little Stories bamboo nappies are very absorbent for night time, although also very stiff

Another vote for pampers, it's the only thing that's stopped my eldest leaking. We also did two nappies for a while but it wasn't foolproof. Could you try the nappy on back to front? Not sure the back is necessarily supposed to hold more but it might have a slightly bigger surface area.

Also you probably are already doing this, but make sure the penis is tucked straight down. If it's pointing to one side or is flipped up and forward wee will leak even if the absorbent part of the nappy isn't full.

Nappy on back to front, pull up over the top, make sure vest & sleep suit are loose in the crotch.
