Potty training advice for 2y 9mo dd

Tried potty training my 2.5yo daughter a few months ago and it did not go well. We've just picked it back up again. Left her with no nappy on all afternoon then as soon as I spotted her having a wee, I'd then put her calmly on the potty. She screamed the place down while she finished her wee but was then chuffed with herself after I praised her and we put a sticker on her chart. Do I just keep going with this method or is the screaming & crying a sign she's still not ready?! She's now 2y 9m. Thanks

I would keep going. The screaming may have been nothing more than annoyance at being removed from something she was interested in to sit on the potty. Encourage lots to drink so there are lots of chances to practice on the potty. My DD was easy to train, my son less so. With him, we didn't catch a single drop for 36 hours. I told myself I'd give it a few days and give up if he wasn't getting it. Once he took himself to the potty for the first time on day 2, I knew he could do it so we kept going. He was 2.5, daughter was 2 years 9 months.
